Camelia is a multi-disciplinary artist based in New York City and Puerto Rico.

As a graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts (BFA), her experience spans many artistic mediums including acting, playwriting, music-making, singing, broadcast radio, comedy, and more.

As a theatre artist, Camelia has produced two original works of theatre at Playwrights Horizon’s Theatre School and The Tank. She spearheaded both projects as a playwright, director, and actor (fiestas ajenas, de una vida a otra vida).

As an actor, Camelia works both in theatre and film. At NYU, she partook in both colleagues’ original works and classic texts. Recently, she starred in Los Garcia, a situational comedy play presented at Puerto Rico’s Centro Bellas Arte Luis A. Ferré. Later this year, the film Mareas a la deriva, starring Camelia alongside Denise Quiñones and Gabriela Saker, will premier.

As a musician, Camelia was a featured vocalist on the Carnegie Hall produced Hopes and Dreams: The Lullaby Project (2018), alongside salsa giant Gilberto Santa Rosa. She studied voice, piano, guitar, drums, and theory at Puerto Rico’s Conservatory of Music. Moreover, she voiced two characters in the upcoming children’s animated musical show Las Cabritas.

More of Camelia’s work includes her weekly radio show Son del Caribe, which aired on WNYU 89.1FM. Now she hosts Radio Mundialista, broadcast every Tuesday at 11PM EST through BrainrotRadio.com
